Community Meeting to Discuss 87 Mann Avenue

There will be a public meeting to discuss the proposal for the redevelopment of 87 Mann Avenue (former St. Clement Church).

Thursday, February 28th, 2013
7:00pm- 9:00pm
Sandy Hill Community Centre (250 Somerset Street East)

PROPOSAL:

To retain the church and demolish the existing attached dwelling on the site and replace it with new construction while converting the site to a multi-unit residential building.

Required Zoning By-law Amendments:

  • To create one consistent zoning for the entire property.
  • To add “Apartment Dwelling-Low Rise” and “Neighbourhood Commercial” as Permitted Uses for the site.
  • To reduce the amount of Required Parking.

RESPONSE FROM ASH:

A letter from ASH was sent to Mr. Abushaar after the January ASH meeting. ASH supports the repurposing approach for the church property although there are a number of concerns that need to be addressed.
