The new academic year starts this week and there are two items of particular interest to broader community:
Welcome Week Walkabout
On September 8, 2015 the annual university Welcome Week Walkabout involving representatives from the University of Ottawa, the Students’ Federation, the City By-Law Department, Councillor Mathieu Fleury’s office and ASH will take place. This group will visit student accommodation in the neighbourhood, and hand out information packs making students aware of garbage and noise bylaws, key dates for garbage and recycling and reminding them that they are living in a residential area. The group will be visiting many addresses. Please contact info@ash-acs.ca if you If you know of a specific address that should be visited or would like to participate.
The Walkabout starts at 6pm at the new university residence on Henderson Avenue.
Town and Gown Committee Meeting
The next meeting of the full Town and Gown Committee will be held on Wednesday, September 9th, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Sandy Hill Community Centre (250 Somerset Street East). Members of the public are welcome.
