The City of Ottawa will be offering two workshops on the Uptown Rideau Community Design Plan at the Rideau Public Library (377 Rideau Street).
The workshops will provide you with an opportunity to work in small groups and discuss your thoughts with City staff on the following topics:
- The vision for Rideau Street. What is the future of Rideau Street and how can future development reflect on its history?
- Building form, height and design. What should buildings look like to best capture the community’s character?
- Transportation and public spaces. How can pedestrian and cycling routes into and through the area be improved? Where are the opportunities for creating great public spaces?
- Land uses along Rideau Street. What use would you like to see along Rideau Street?
You only need to register for one timeslot listed below. Pick one of these timeslots.
Dates and times:
- Wednesday, May 28, 2014 – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or
- Thursday, May 29, 2014 – 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Registration is limited to 20 people per session and is on a first come, first serve basis. Email your registration date and time to planning@ottawa.ca before May 22, 2014 to reserve your spot. Additional sessions may be added in the future, if necessary.
The results of the workshop will be posted on ottawa.ca/uptownrideau and shared with the community in June.

La Ville d’Ottawa offrirai deux ateliers sur l’avenir du secteur est de la rue Rideau au Bibliothèque publique Rideau (377, rue Rideau).
En participant à cet atelier, vous aurez la chance de travailler en petits groupes et de discuter avec le personnel de la Ville pour donner votre opinion sur :
- La vision adoptée pour l’avenir de la rue Rideau Comment le développement futur de la rue reflétera-t-il son histoire?
- La forme, hauteur et conception des immeubles. De quoi devraient avoir l’air les immeubles pour refléter le mieux possible le caractère de la communauté?
- Le transport et les espaces publics. Comment les sentiers piétonniers et cyclables qui traversent la zone peuvent-ils être améliorés? Quelles occasions avons-nous de créer de beaux espaces publics?
- L’aménagement du territoire le long de la rue Rideau. Quel zonage aimeriez-vous voir le long de la rue Rideau?
Vous n’avez qu’à vous inscrire à l’une des séances ci-dessous. Choisissez-en une seule.

- Mercredi, le 28 mai 2014 – 10 h à 14 h, ou
- Jeudi, le 29 mai 2014 – 16 h à 20 h
Il n’y a que 20 places par séance. Premier arrivé, premier servi. Inscrivez-vous par courriel à planning@ottawa.ca d’ici le 22 mai 2014 pour la séance qui vous intéresse. Des séances additionnelles pourraient être offertes au besoin.
Les travaux des ateliers seront affichés sur ottawa.ca/uptownrideau. La communauté y aura accès en juin.
