Subject: Inquiry OCC21-03 – Fleury – Demande de renseignement OCC21-043 – Fleury – Assistance to support the ByWard Market

Good Afternoon everyone,

As we have discussed with many of you, Councillor Fleury submitted an inquiry on May 26th related to immediate supports required to stabilize the Lowertown., ByWard Market and Rideau Street area. Attached you will find the official City response to this inquiry. This inquiry will also be presented at the September 16th Community and Protective Services Committee meeting.

We will continue to push the City to bring dedicated, proactive City resources and coordination into the Lowertown, ByWard Market and Rideau Street area. We believe that this proactive, City presence, along with an increase in the Safe Supply program, and investments in permanent housing, across the City, is critical to bring relief into the area.

Thank you,

Erin
