ASH Response to Richcraft’s Park Proposal

Kevin – Thank you for the revised drawings of the park at Charlotte and Rideau that you sent to me last week in follow-up to our meeting with the Councilor and City staff on May 13, 2013.

I intended to raise it with the community once I had more clarity on the terms of the new agreement that you were proposing. However, during the AGM, the proposal was brought to the attention of the community via a question from the floor to Councilor Fleury and a motion from the floor was made for a vote on either a full park for the three years as promised or a partial park and a sales centre until the condo was ready to be built. Although the Councilor suggested a community meeting with Richcraft to hear the entire presentation about the sales office and what benefits the community might enjoy, it was abundantly clear there was no appetite for such a meeting and there were questions and comments as to why Richcraft was changing the agreement. With almost 300 people in attendance at our standing-room only AGM, the vote was a unanimous “no” to Richcraft’s offer.

I have been instructed to tell you that there is no interest by the community in the offer and they would like to see the full park installed by July 1, 2013.

If Richcraft is still interested in holding a meeting with residents on this matter, please send the full agreement as you envision it and I will raise it again with my new Board for their review and consideration.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Christopher Collmorgen
