Past ASH, LCA, and KEATF Support for Truck Tunnel

The City, together with the Province of Ontario, has committed to and is now engaged in a 750,000$ feasibility study for a tunnel downtown intended to remove the trucks from the surface streets in order to get them between the 417 and the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge.

That study is just starting and is expected to take just over a year. ASH, representatives of Lowertown Community Association and our Councillor will be meeting with the Mayor’s office later in April to get a progress update and to reinforce what we believe are important topics to be covered in this study. We will also take the opportunity to make the case that some short term actions should be investigated to try and make the current truck route situation safer.
