Sara Chivot Art
Originally from Northern Ontario, I have always drawn inspiration from the diversity, rawness and resilience of the landscape of my childhood and my surroundings. In nature, I can escape the chaos of the everyday and enjoy the beauty of my environment. This pull is seen in much of my work, whether in the form of a colour palette or shapes and lines resembling a landscape. I began painting very young and my work has changed from representational to more abstract over the years. In 1996, I studied visual arts and art history at the University of Ottawa. In addition to being an artist, I also teach in an Ottawa elementary school and enjoy helping kids explore and discover the exciting and therapeutic facets of art making. |
