Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, located at 288 Chapel Street to the “Cindy Mitchell Park”

City of Ottawa Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services have let ASH know that the Commemorative Naming Committee (CNC) has approved the commencement of a 30-day public consultation on this proposal. The proposal:

In recognition of extensive community service, the City has been asked to name Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, located at 288 Chapel Street, the “Cindy Mitchell Park”. Cindy Mitchell was a longtime Early Childhood Educator in Sandy Hill. Cindy is a prominent community member, that has played an active role in supporting refugee resettlement, assisting children with home schooling via videoconference, and involved in raising funds to support the Ottawa Food Bank.
