St. Joe’s will be hosting an International Day celebration on NOVEMBER 17TH to recognize and celebrate the growing diversity of their Parish and of their broader Ottawa community. St. Joe’s is blessed to have so many cultures, languages and heritages represented in the Capital and the presence of missions from around the world adds an extra layer of richness. Social justice has long been a core element of their spiritual and community life, and they recognize that economic justice goes hand-in-hand with inclusion and respect for the plurality of cultures, traditions, lifestyles and life experiences that form the fabric of society.
On SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH they will celebrate one mass at 10:30 a.m. and have invited ambassadors and other diplomats to join them and to get to know their faith community. The mass will incorporate multicultural themes and will be followed by a fair in the Parish Hall. Some embassies will be providing a taste of their own country’s gastronomy, but St. Joe’s also encourages their parishioners to contribute a dish from their family’s heritage, or a dish you have enjoyed from another culture.
They hope to see all of you at mass on November 17th! If you are able to contribute a dish to our international fair, please contact Christopher Adam at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: as usual, the one mass will replace both the Saturday evening and the two Sunday morning masses. University Mass at 7:00pm will be celebrated as scheduled.
